Incorporated in 1976, Internal Medical Group (IMG) has been providing outstanding medical care for North Florida patients 18 and older for over 30 years. We've assembled top talent among experienced internists and nurse practitioners and have a comprehensive in-house lab. We're very proud of our loyal patient base, our warm, positive environment and advanced testing abilities. At IMG, the goal of our skilled internists and staff is to offer the best overall patient experience possible. At IMG, our mission is to provide every patient with a truly exceptional level of medical care, by employing the latest technology and methods without sacrificing the personal attention that promotes trust and ultimately defines the relationship between the patient and the healthcare provider. We believe in listening to and educating our patients so they become knowledgeable partners in their medical care. We place a strong emphasis on patient education and know that many people research their symptoms and conditions online or seek recommendations from others in community forums. We appreciate this desire to learn and we hope you include us in the conversation. It's important to discuss with a medical professional how such information applies to your unique situation and we welcome the opportunity to explain your findings and respond to your questions. Our commitment is to listen to you with respect, discuss the pros and cons of available treatment options and help you make informed decisions about your care. At a time when everyone is taking multi-tasking to new heights, it's easy to let health appointments fall to the bottom of the "to-do" list. We want to change that. Our philosophy is that patients shouldn't have to spend time running from place to place, making endless appointments and follow-up calls to receive standard testing and medical care. By consolidating several services, from chest x-rays to blood analysis, within our office, you can usually get what you need right here - from people you already know and trust. This means quicker test results and more consistent care. We also accept most insurance plans and our knowledgeable staff will help navigate you through the insurance paperwork. With our revolutionary facility, complete with an in-house laboratory, treadmill stress testing and imaging equipment, IMG redefines the medical office. With fewer phone calls, fewer appointments and faster answers, IMG takes the hassle out of healthcare, too. If you're ready for a fresh attitude toward medical care, give us a call at 904-396-0450 or CLICK HERE schedule your appointment today.
About Internal Medicine
Inside Internal MedicineAn internal medicine doctor is a specialist in diseases affecting internal organs: a highly trained personal physician for patients, generally 18 years of age and older. Internists provide general medical care, advice to promote wellness and disease prevention and nonsurgical treatment of diseases affecting the internal organs. There is a broad range of illnesses and conditions involving internal organs, such as the heart, kidneys, liver, skin, and joints, as well as the digestive, respiratory, and vascular systems. Many internists choose to sub-specialize in a particular area, such as cardiology, oncology, gastroenterology, or hematology, and they receive additional extensive training and clinical experience in their area of sub-specialization. Most internists practicing within the United States (and all at IMG) are Board Certified in their specialty. This means that a physician has received a pre-determined level of training and has passed a comprehensive examination administered by an independent board. Upon passing the exams, the board certifies that the physician has demonstrated the skills and knowledge necessary to practice medicine in a given area.
How to Select an InternistWhen selecting an internist, be sure to choose one who is board certified. You should also pick someone with whom you feel comfortable, and who listens to what you have to say. It’s reasonable to expect that your physician will treat you with respect, and answer your questions in terms you can understand. It also helps if the physician’s office is easily accessible and offers multiple services (as we do here). This makes it’s easier for you to be proactive about your health and get the care you need, when you need it.
What to Bring to Your Office VisitPlease bring to each appointment, a Drivers License and or other Picture ID as well as your current insurance and prescription cards. If you are a new patient you should have filled out our new patient paper work in advance and returned it to our office prior to your first visit with us. CLICK HERE to download a copy of our new patient paper work. For your safety, it is important that we reconcile your medication list on every visit. Therefore, we ask that you bring with you to each visit, every medication and over the counter item, including vitamins or herbal supplements that you take, whether you take them on a regular or occasional basis and whether at your own desire or prescribed by another physician or care provider. We understand that this may be viewed as a nuisance, but it’s important to understand that many vitamins and herbal supplements interfere with certain medications and may render them ineffective or harmful. If possible, you should have your medical records transferred before your initial visit. Be sure to bring any past records or test results that you have, in your possession, some may be copied for our chart and returned to you and others simply returned to you. It’s helpful to write down questions you have so you’ll be sure to remember them, and you should bring something to take notes on. It should go without saying that just as you expect your physician to respect you, you should respect your physician’s time. This means you should refrain from accepting phone calls, texting, reading emails or engaging in other activities that divide your attention when with your physician. We believe that the ideal patient-physician relationship is one of openness, respect and communication; and that this "partnership" leads to the highest quality of care and the best possible outcomes for the patient. |
